Notes

I ran home from EHS after leaving the car with Hugh. I was looking forward to this run in the rain. I could have ran this morning but that would have been too easy. I knew it was going to rain and didn't care. On the way home, I hit a couple parks. First, I ran through Stephens doing an outer and some of the inner. Running north the wind was pretty bad at times. I really think most of the time the wind is mental since I can usually run pretty well as long as it isn't constant and I get a break. The next park was Albert-Oakland. I entered at the parking lot where we had the Eagles run and then ran though up to the school and then Blue Ridge back to Oakland Gravel. Really strong wind on Roger Wilson Dr. Once the pavement ended and I hit gravel, I encountered a pack of ankle biters down the road. Usually, I will try to chase back dogs, but decided that maybe I could out run these. One of them was pretty quick and on my heels. I got my pace down to 4:45 before I was able to let up and they gave up. Pretty easy pace overall. The first mile took as a warm up and the last mile was a lot up hill. The course was kind of rolling.

I just wasn't able to get up this morning. Last night I played an April Fool's joke on myself and put contact lens cleaner in my contact before putting it in my eye. Took a few minutes to get the contact out and awhile to get the burning under control. Finally, calmed down enough to try to sleep after spending an hour trying to get the cleaner out of my eye. At 4:30 am I had less than 6 hours of sleep and that was very restless sleep. The next 2 hours were restless as well and was extremely tired when I got up. Running early would have been insane with no sleep and so I used this opportunity to have a long rain run in the wind and cold.
