Notes

I felt like I was kind of in between everyone today. I tried running with Phil for the first couple miles until we got to the hill. Up the hill I was with Jacque, Kim, and Katie (a new runner in town that I will never beat in a 5K). I went ahead of them on Fairview and could see the guys in site. At Stadium, I had to stop for the light and the girls almost caught me. I was thinking it would be nice to run with them and would even consider doing the whole course since the pace felt good. Continued on with girls behind me and the guys ahead until I noticed 2 runners turn off towards the trail. I followed since I only planned to run 8 miles. I figured it was best to stick to the plan. It turned out it was Mike and Brad. By the time I got back to the parking lot I had caught up to Brad since he slowed down. Mike had already left. I had exactly 7 miles so went out and ran 1 more mile through the swamp.

I just kind of took it easy for this course. I thought up trying some marathon pace miles, but didn't feel like it. Picked up a bit when I caught up to Brad, but never really exerted myself too hard since so many hills. I think I am feeling better this week so far running-wise, but feel like I am about to bite someone's head off at times. I hate tapering, but it is a necessary evil. I really need a vacation and just so happens I am running the Boston Marathon!
