Ran 5.5 mi with Allan at 7 and then back to parking lot to meet the 8 am group. Legs feeling beat up, but felt pretty strong running. Mostly just the knees are sore due to falling yesterday on the hard frozen ground. After we went up the big hill with Andy P in the lead, I waited for others to catch up. Some I think stayed behind for hill repeats. I led Leland and Andy S. to the High Ridge Trail so we got a long hill up and then got to fly down the long downhill. I think they liked the little loop which adds about 2 miles. Leland said he would like to mountain bike if possible. Back to parking lot and other guys had gone back out.

I fell short of my mileage goal for the week by 11 miles, but I am going to justify it by I was 6 miles over last week and 25 miles over for my entire plan so far. I could go out and run 11 more miles today no problem, but since I am running a 50K in 2 weeks, I don't really see the benefit at this point since my legs feel beat up. I think I will baby them this week and hope by 2 weeks, I am feeling stronger. I do feel ready to run a 50K, but would like fresh legs.. I don't feel I have peaked so that is good. My biggest worry about this race is running in a big muddy mess the entire 3 loops, but I think I am ready for that too.
