First workout back in 6 or 7 months! Foam rolled immediately beforehand. Approached this with a healthy mindset – Beth and I were tackling this fartlek together because we wanted to, and we were excited to start working out again. It was a beautiful day to jump back into things.
Jumped on the River Trail and took it to Hawk Island. Then ran 3 min.-3 min.-2 min.-2 min.-1 min.-1 min.-4 x 30s hard, with jog rest in-between. Rest was 2:00 minutes for everything, except in-between the 30s reps. We took 1:00 rest for those.
Felt so freaking good to get the legs spinning again. Beth gave me a few pace markers from her Garmin after each hard piece. We got faster each rep, from 7:22 pace down to sub-6:00 pace. It's progress, and I'll take it. Most importantly, we had fun tackling this!
