Ran the LL Bean 10k course, but this was a trash run and not a race. We started behind the runners and didn't have much to pick up for the first mile or so since the roads were pretty clean. Once we got closer to the water, though, there was plenty of trash on the side of the road, and once we got to Route 1 near the highway we had to stop for a while to get all the junk out of the grass. In all, we filled 4 trash bags and 2 bags of recycling. Ben & Jerry's wasn't open when we got done though, which strikes me as a poor move on their part given the 1100 or 1200 runners coming through plus all the parade-watchers. I remember that being a problem a few years ago the last time I was in Freeport for the 10k.
