Notes
Starting temp 61, DP 54; ending temp 68, DP 53.
Did the 4-3-2-1 workout around Hains Point, running with/behind Chris C/Juan; also joined by Larry for first part.
Splits were:
4 miles in 27:24 (6:51 pace)
3 miles in 20:19 (6:46 pace)
2 miles in 13:50 (6:55 pace)
1 mile in 6:47
Average pace: 6:51 for the 10 miles.
The wind was from the north, and notable on Hains Point, which threw some of my splits off - the first two splits of the 3 had a solid tailwind, while the third had a headwind.
I do think the 2 mile segment splits were wrong - thrown off by going under a bridge and then the Whitehurst. Chris was only about 5 seconds ahead of me, and his watch said 6:39 for the second mile - I'm guessing the right pace was somewhere between the two... Not like it matters anyway - effort is what is important.
I ignored the paces during this run, just going off of feel - I think it worked well - I finished feeling very comfortable, and wasn't straining during the run. Since Army is next week, I made a point of not pushing the last mile.
Breakfast was rice, hemp powder, and maple bacon and french toast GUs. Sat well. Took blueberry Roctane after the 4.
Breathing was a bit tight at times, but mostly fine. Adviar 250/50 and Qvar.
I've decided I don't like the Go Meb Speeds as much as I used to - they just didn't have good grip or bounce today, and my neuromas were also flaring by the end. I think I'll swap back to the sub-2s for my long runs for this cycle.
