Blech. Pollen count of 9.1, and I felt horrible even during the warm-up. Legs felt fresh, but I never felt like I could take a deep inhalation.
Workout was supposed to be 2x1600, 800, 800 (with sub-goal of taking the first one really slow), got shut down halfway through the second 1600. Splits were 6:15, 3:01, 3:04, then 3:14 for the first half of the 1600,
I targeted 6:20-6:26 for the first 1600, but overshot (6:15), and dug myself a hole that my lungs wouldn't let me out of. Weird thing is, my HR never even got out of tempo range. I just couldn't get enough air to be able to push myself to interval.
I'll grudgingly admit that shutting me down was the right decision, and not one I would have had the guts to do on my own. But still...UGH.
Took Claritin+singulair the night before; I'm thinking I need to change up the allergy meds some. Maybe also call the GI doctor, and see if he thinks I can use the inhaler and chug Pepto after (to counteract the effects on my esophagus of the inhaler).
At least the stomach was NOT an issue.
