I was hoping for a fast and flat course to boost confidence, but due to the airshow this weekend in Pretoria, the course apparently had to be changed shifting into the undulating suburbs. Added to the hills the course was very twisty. That and the ~250m elevation gain made it run ahead of Soweto. I ran almost perfect even splits, had my fastest split 3:49/km towards the end (17th km), so I learnt more from the challenging course and I feel like I'm in better shape than I've been giving myself credit for. Also the half marathon is without a doubt my favourite distance to race. My three half's have been my three favourite races. At the end I was really comfortable and felt like I could go for another 5km at this pace.
