An absolute stinker of a race. Didnlt warm up properly, Went out to hard. Should have known better than to overtake the great Charne Bosman at 1km and should have stuck behind her at that stage. Didn't get passed by too many people, maybe 5 or 6 along the route. Had to take three short (15s) walk breaks.
But on the other hand, this is week 5 of a 12 week program and really the first 4 weeks were just a build up, so I hope the next 7 weeks really do the trick and there's still the hill phase to come in December of course. I need to remember that it takes a while to build up performance, it doesn't happen overnight, and with the injury, I was probably starting off a very low base of fitness.
