Long run with my man luke from the dorm. Found a strange park near the creek that had a playground? Art? Monument to a forgotten god? Decided to try and run up the ridgeline that runs through town. this turned out to be a very poor life decision as i will explain later. i think we got up half of the ridge to some radio tower. this resulted in more elevation change than the entirety of grand forks. made it back town and decided to finish up on the "greenway" of rapidcity. I was quite suprised at how well this run went considering i was in a car for most of the day and didnt really have any decent meals for a while and it was at a bit of elevation.
Later that night lukes parents and luke invited me to go out and eat with them. at first i directed us to go eat at Firehouse brewery since i knew it was good. turned out to be a hour wait line so we tried something else. for some reason i was choosen to lead us around downtown to find a place to eat which failed four more time. we ended up deciding to go to ruby tuesday, now at this point it had been like 2 hours since we got done with the run and i hadnt had any great meal since yesterdays lunch. I started with just a cramp in my left thigh which took a long time to go away and lukes parents probably thought nothing of it like oh, hes a runner, this is normal. but then i started getting very light headed and shakey as i was standing there trying to get this cramp out. At this moment the waiter decides that it was absolutely necessary to take my order. I try to nonchalantly question him on the true story of their "endless" Buffet bar but my eyesight and hearing had gone to full helen keller levels so i said i would just go with the mac and cheese with extra salt. At the same time lukes parents notice that hey, this guy looks like he might die, so lukes mom starts going into full mom mode and starts digging through her purse and is handing me all diferent kinds of food hoping something will help. the waiter guy gave me some saltine crackers which i immediately choked on because there was no water in my body. eventually my body stops going into full nuclear melt down and might senses return to me. now after this eveent i was at least expecting to be able to repay his parents by paying for my own meal but no, lukes dad just had to pay for both of my meals. I am enternaly in dept to these people. All things considered this was just about what i expected out of my first day in Rapid city
