Pikes peak

Notes

Met CRUD (Keith, Paul, Cory, Rick) at highway 24/pikes peak highway to run some new to me trails to Barr Camp and back. Been too long since I spent time on the Peak, it was amazingly beautiful. The Heizer trail to Barr trail (exactly at the 7.8 to go sign) was a good climb followed by some runable sections. From there we took Barr Trail to Barr Camp and out Elk Park to Severy Creek Trail, which has been closed for several years. The next 2+ miles were a combination of bush whacking, fallen tree climbing, find bits and pieces of trail here and there. We then got on a crazy trail. I fell hard on my knee trying to cross one of the creeks on the rocks rather than just running through. There were boulders, ropes, stairs, and ladders to accompany us on this last tough but fun trail. Good CRUD run, with more hiking than running, lots of off trail, a little blood, and good company on tough trails.
