Notes

2nd place today. Got to the meet at 9am and waited and coached all day until 7pm. It was pretty windy so the goal was to sit on the top guy (14:31 indoors, 4:12 in the mile). Sat in 4th to 5th the first half and nobody wanted to take the lead. First mile was 4:48 and 2 mile was 9:43 or something. Like I said. Super slow. Felt really easy and didn’t hurt til about 600 left. Thought about taking the lead and going but I told myself that I have to get better at just sticking my nose in it and bing close at the end to try and win it. Too many times, I’ve tried making a move I couldn’t sustain and falling off and getting passed. I don’t want to be like that. So I waited for the top seed to finally make a move which he did with 1200 to go and I covered it. He beat me by .48. Fitness is definitely there though. Wish I woulda won but I’m just gonna keep putting my nose in races and hopefully I can get it in a fast one soon. I think I could go 14:0?’s potentially with good competition and weather. There were 3-4 14:40 guys that I beat by 12-20 seconds
