Took off after the trail runners at the back of the pack and was going to run the trail, but I was faster than the back of the pack, so I switched to the road around the lake going counterclockwise. The road around the lake was hilly, and there were treacherous patches of ice. I ran 2.5 miles out and turned around, figuring that I'd have a bit of time to read once I got back before Andy crossed the finish line the first time. I read Cesar Millan's dog training book (it's really a human training book) until 9:30 and went to the starting line and waited until 9:45; I figured by then that Andy must've crossed the finish line much earlier than he had said he was going to. He did.
