Hi, Sam! (And whoever else reads my log)

Overheard in passing: "I'm going to get the hair on my neck cut -- I want to ask out this girl in my math class."

Yes, runners, good grooming is important.

This run started out faster than usual, and that may be partly my fault -- in my rush to avoid being the last on the trail again, I preceded the pack by a little, and that may have made Ed run faster than usual to catch me. I think Ed ran the "real" run -- he seemed to pick up the pace every half mile, but I caught up to him a little on the "down" halves. I finished the usual 2.7-to-6.5-and-back then went back out on the trail to wait for Andy, who was running 10 this morning. He and Dan, fueled by the usual clouds of testosterone, were challenging anything that moved on the trail to a race. Good thing there weren't any deer today...

Overall, I was pleasantly surprised by my pace. It didn't feel that fast, but I certainly would have liked to have that 9:27 mile to do over.
