New PR by about 2 min, 30 sec. Very happy about the PR; not thrilled about the race. Didn't feel particularly strong, and I just couldn't hit the paces that I wanted to hold throughout the race. Average pace was actually slower than the Mini. I wasn't a lot slower than I should have been, but I was a bit slower nonetheless.
Mitigating factors: warm morning (70's); three straight weeks at the 60/mpw level; 12 day streak; no appreciable taper; 1 hour of sleep the night before (uggh!!); and bad nutrition the day before (note to self: no matter how yummy they are, a bag of pita chips is not a meal substitute).
Garmin wonked out and didn't save the race, so I have no idea what the actual mile splits are. First five were probably right at 7:20/m, 6-9 probably a bit closer to 7:25/m, and 10 in 7:00/m flat, maybe. Oddly enough, half-way splits are virtually identical (2 second negative split). Not terribly shabby, all things considered. At worst, it was still a fantastic extended tempo workout.
