The Marine Corps Marathon wins AGAIN, LOL! Nah-- this was scheduled 14 days after Chicago, and people were telling me that was too aggressive, especially for somebody as inexperienced as myself. I now completely understand why! I went for a "shake out" run two or three days prior, and I quickly realized how 'difficult,' what should have been an 'easy' run, was. It was obvious that my legs weren't fully healed, and that the MCM was going to be a doozy!

Well, it was. I knew setting out that things weren't feeling 'solid' as they should at the start of the race, so all I could do is keep pushing as far as I could. I made it to the half marathon point when things really started taking a turn for the worse. The icing on the cake was that it was raining all race, and at times, was torrential down pour! This wasn't necessarily a problem, as it was a rather warm day outside... and I actually found it to be quite soothing at times. But at the same time, it wasn't ideal race conditions.

Anyways, I ended doing a 'run / walk' thing the rest of the way... officially setting my PW (personal worst) time... but at the same time, not being disappointing at all! This was my second full marathon in 14 days, and I got it done for my fallen friend... and that's all that counts! :-)
