Joe Kleinerman 10K (Read 369 times)

I'm recently home from the Joe Kleinerman 10K in Central Park. This was the first really cold race I've experienced in a while (I didn't think the New York Marathon was so bad). There was a dusting of Snow on the ground and a few snowflakes in the air during the race. 4,331 runners came for the last club points race--and what will probably be my last race for 2008 as I must concentrate on studying for my finals. So here are my impressions. The Road Runners moved up the start time to 8:30am which is yet another blow for mass transit. There were the color coded corrals but then they had everyone move up. It was a very congested start, took me three minutes plus to get to the starting line and I didn't start to really move until that really big hill on the north part of the hill. I felt good all the way through the race, and finished in 58:19, Overall place 2691 of 4331.
