When traveling to a new location, it would be helpful to know where to run. Run Spots provides the answer by gleaning workout data on RunningAHEAD.com. There are two similar questions that can be asked,

What are the most frequented locations?

The answer to this question is easy. Each workout's route was drawn onto the map. The more frequently a route is used, the brighter it becomes. The map shows where runners run every day. It may not show the most scenic routes. Instead, it shows where you'll most likely see a fellow runner on any given day.

What are the popular or famous routes?

This map displays the routes that are common amongst runners in the area. That is, each route must be used by at least two runners. The more different runners use a given route, the more visible is the route. Interestingly, the map tends to show major races such as half and full marathons.
