If it was perpetrated upon me, I would stand before them, stare them down, not say a word, until they asked "Can I help you?" and then point to the offense and say "What you did was rude, and I'm rather upset with what you did. I would appreciate it if you would clean this off right now. If you clean it off right now I promise I won't kill you...Fair enough?"
