Amazing!! All of you crazy ultra runners get lots of rest now!
Runners run
Fast is better than long
The results (which are still subject to change).
Somebody who thought he didn't get chicked, looks to have been officially chicked
MTA: Granted, the chick who did the chicking, did NOT blow out a couple of knees enroute.
2017 Goals: Give up goals; they're stoopid
Give a man a fire and he'll be warm the rest of the night;Set a man afire and he'll be warm the rest of his life.
What in the Jehu?
Whoa. Lana Haugberg is a name that will be on the radar from now on. (Speaking as someone who was also chicked on Saturday.)
Bacon Party!
Great running everybody. Cant imagine throwing down nearly 130 miles under any conditions let alone coughing the whole time. Great job with the 2nd place, WG! And Buzzie, any miles that soon after NC24 is amazing. I hit a training wall two weeks after NC24 where my legs were completely dead.
Thanks Murphey.
No training after NC24, it was all recovery ... longest run was 7 miles, once.
Spent a good bit of time dodging impending injury ... same thing that popped up during the race - which I am now, with benefit of hindsight, attributing to the shoes in which it all happened (new to me as a shoe worn late in NC24 and during the recovery runs that followed in prep for FANS). Yeah, they're fired!

Thanks to everyone for the Props ~ Yes, once when I was a young man I ran a decent race in France.
Now I am old and grey and just happy to still be a hobby jogger.
Most people get wiser as they get older - I seem to get dumber.
Yes - I was chicked ... Yes, if I had followed WG's instructions I would not have been chicked.
I will be chicked by a bus load of ladies at my next race ... If I man up and race it. I could avoid this potential chicking by Candice and any other lady at Bjorkland 1/2 marathon by DNS and just go up and drink beer instead.
Long dead ... But my stench lingers !
Buzzie - I could not have run a 2nd 24 within a few weeks of the 1st.
Joe Fejes running 135 a few weeks after 142 blows my mind.
Cheers, everyone!
GO DB!

I'm cracking open a beer to celebrate right now. Ooh! I've also got this shot of Fireball. Go DB.
The tangents are moot.

SCHEDULE 2016--
The pain that hurts the worse is the imagined pain. One of the most difficult arts of racing is learning to ignore the imagined pain and just live with the present pain (which is always bearable.) - Jeff

I still can't fathom the amount of miles DB can run in a week, much less a day. I'm looking forward to seeing him continue to kick ass for years to come. Congrats again DB!
BTW - Great Dane Brewery in Madison had a new beer a few months ago - the triple bock.
Happy DoppleBock Day!
