This is all very compelling, but I have to go eat my cheeseburger and fries.

Sigh. Anecdote <> Data
Why is it sideways?
I try to stay away from hospitals and malls, but I am surprised that you say there are more overweight people in Tennessee than before. I have not seen this. What makes you say it?
Watch 'em grow.
2009 is the latest? Back in 2009 people thought Netbooks were a good idea.
Maybe by 2010 it was solid red.
Is Dustin Hoffman in Tennessee looking for a monkey? A flying monkey possibly?

That's my point. The people you interact with don't really represent the bulk of those in TN.

Pretty much every research study shows an increase in obesity rates in TN. This is well known and heavily publicized. Frankly, I'm surprised that you are surprised.
This: http://www.americashealthrankings.org/tn (have to select obesity trend on the graphic...goes through 2011)
And this: http://www.cdc.gov/obesity/data/adult.html (scroll down to see the map on obesity...goes through 2010)
I'm running somewhere tomorrow. It's going to be beautiful. I can't wait.
Poor baby
This is pretty awesome too, from 2013

LOLZ
When it’s all said and done, will you have said more than you’ve done?
On that flashy colored map is there a correlation between the poorer areas & higher obesity rates? Even in states with less red the few red spots seem to be in poor counties. Is this actually the case. I've only know a bit about the 6 states I've lived in.
Oh dear that looks like heaven.
