Morning all ~~ Yes, I did get to bed with the house all clean and smellling good. Did not wake up to my alarm this morning though so I overslept by almost 2 hours. No run this morning but I will run tonight. I'll stop by later for personals. I actually have to get some work done.... Roll eyes

Morning all! I still have the stupid cough. I also have some other bad news…. I will be having my shoulder reconstructed in the near future. I have had extremely bad shoulders since my swimming days and had to have my left shoulder done in 2003. They wanted to do both at the same time but I said that I would wait until the pain was waking me up at night to do the right one. A few weeks ago I when we had our big snow I was shoveling to get some cardio, after my shoulder was bothering me… it has not stopped since. I saw my shoulder guy yesterday and he said it was about that time. So now it is a matter of when. Ideally I would like to be able to wait until we have another baby and then do it. If he can find an injectable to manage the pain during the pregnancy that would be the best. My husband said that he thinks we should do it now and then while I am recovering get pregnant. We shall see. Mary- looks like you will be able to make your 1000 miles for the year!!! Panda- great run!! Does your Forerunner work on the bike as well or did you get the bike one and it works for running as well? Michelle- how is the family feeling? Sounds like you had a happy holiday as well. Looks like you are really back in the swing and getting ready for your half!! Great job! Ok, going back to work!

Hey everyone. I'm around....just don't have any exercise to report. I'm kicking it into high gear when we get back from our trip. I'm going to do Lean Cuisines for lunch and dinner during the week and go really low fat on the weekends and allow myself one splurge meal a week. I will also be doing a minimum of 30 minutes of cardio every day so that will either be running or power walking with weights...we'll see. Goal is still to be down 30 lbs. by the end of June. It's going to be hard at first but once the weight starts coming off I'll be happy. Tonight is a little shopping to get a couple things for our trip...I need to exchange a pair of jeans for myself and two pairs for Jason. I'd like to get a cute top or something instead but he yelled at me and said that I need jeans because that's all I've talked about...alright, alright, lol-I'll get the jeans! Sounds like everyone is doing well....sorry about the surgery Sarah That doesn't sound good at all!!! Yay Cherrie's house is clean and you slept a little bit! Mary I like your avatar pic...it's cute! Ok...I've been here at work for 3 hours and accomplished nothing....big shocker.

Have I ever mentioned that I suddenly have a terrible memory? I think I lost some brain cells during childbirth! I used to remember everything...my clients were always so impressed what i could remember between their 6 week appointments...so, what I forgot is where is Melanie going for her little vacation get-away? Sarah I think I agree with your husband. get it done and over with now. Imagine it just becomes worse and you are pregnant unable to do anything about it. Not to mention it won't be so easy to hold a baby with a recovering shoulder. Friends of ours are pregnant for the 3rd time. DH is getting a little broody...Yikes! Did I mention today is my 4th anniversary? Too much going on in December for us... Cherrie Getting some work done? Are we getting Jhi, Michele, Genipher, and everyone else over here?

Forgot to say: Melanie could be there are some great sales and you cannot resist a new top along with your exchanged jeans...Even in Germany there are good sales today which is unbelievable...DH got 30% off his entire purchase at the Runner's Point.
Michelle We're going to Laughlin, NV...the little mini-Vegas which I'm sure you know about. Happy anniversary!!!!!! We're leaving at 6 a.m. on Saturday and coming back Wed. afternoon. I'm excited....our hotel has of course a casino, a 6-plex movie theater, a 34 lane bowling alley and lots of shops and stuff. I think it should be really fun! Also, there's an outlet mall right down the street too. This could very well be the funnest New Year's Eve I've ever had. I've never really done anything special plus it's Jason's birthday on Saturday so that should be fun. I'll be heading to Kohls tonight so I'm pretty sure I'll be able to find SOMETHING. They do have huge sales going on from now until Saturday so yippee!!! Oh and my parents are going out there too. My mom says on Christmas..."maybe I'll get drunk on NYE." Ok...my mom barely drinks so this should be pretty funny.
Michelle- sounds like you could be pregnant with me....

Hey all ~~ went to the gym, did the total body tone class and then ran 2. I'll run again tomorrow and possibly do the cardio kickbox class. According to the scale I managed to only gain .4 through the holidays however my 'official' weigh in is on Sat so maybe I'll break even!!!! that would be nice. Big grin

hey Jenn, just thought I would let you know that your comments on the Jiggly Joggers has inspired some debate over there about the possibility of changing their name. They see that if you feel that way then for sure many others do as well but have never had the nerve to say it. I've been stopping by there so I'll let you know the outcome. The group overall seems pretty good and they do challenges and record everything. Seems worth checking it out.

Wow Cherrie, thanks for passing that along. If you get in on the debate, please let them know I was not in any way trying to be rude. I know it's just a name, and if they like it and identify with it they shouldn't change, not unless they really want to. I get pretty passionate about that stuff, but I don't find it offensive. It's just not something I could call myself, silly as it probably seems. Smile Probably comes from working with clients with body image issues, and knowing how some of them call themselves names in a joking manner, but deep down they believe it and they are trying to put themselves down. But, I certainly didn't mean to start any controversy!! In running news, 4.25 in the misty fog tonight. I wanted to keep going, but I have a 13 scheduled this weekend and am trying *really* hard not to push too much. Michelle, I do use the heart rate strap, but not all the time. I can get a little OCD about checking my rate, so I try to only use it periodically to make sure I haven't forgotten how I feel when I am at a certain rate. Sort of a check up. I try to remember to wear it during races, as it keeps me from letting the adrenaline carry me out so fast that I cannot make it to the end. Smile
hi pandajenn - don't worry i don't think anyone thought you were trying to start any controversy. i think perhaps lots of the group (me included) just hadn't even considered that people might feel so strongly about the name as to not join. we'd like to be as inclusive as possible so the discussions are underway. obviously though its a big group so these things take time and the outcome is anyones guess!
also - i forgot to add. JJ is a public group so you are free to read the forums without joining. feel free to have a look round - and keep up with the name change discussion! the only restriction is you can't post until you join.

Thanks Mandy. Smile I don't see the forum section, however. My screen just shows Home, Maps and Reports, so I'm wondering if the forums are only visible to those who have joined. And I see that the name isn't JJ at the moment...
oh - i didn't realise the forums had been moved to be private. normally when a group is public you can see them. anyway - yes we seem to have had a name change. we're also just discussing a change to the group's description to be more inclusive of men as well as women. come and join in if you'd like to. you'd be very welcome. please don't be too surprised if people continue to refer to it as JJ for a while though - its been around for a while!

Panda look at that. You inspired a name change! I have to check this group out. Melanie. As soon as you said Laughlin, I remembered the whole bit, about your parents going, etc. I think you will have a great time. The weather is nice in December/January. Actually, that is the only time I have ever been in NV is in January ( except my wedding in December) My legs are a bit sore today so no run. I am skipping the gym this week and next since DH is home and will only run. oh, and Sarah. I will keep my fingers and toes crossed for you to conceive, but I think I will pass! You have to catch up first. Wink
