Forums >Racing>Any RA'ers affected? "Las Vegas marathon runners say they were sickened"
You'll ruin your knees!
I wonder if Zappos.com is OK with having their name tied up in this mess?

Awesome read. Thanks for the link. RnR (Competitor Group) is pretty large advertiser in Runners World...I'm wondering if that thread will hang around for very long. Ennay

Yes, I bet it will. RWOL is good about not deleting threads. There are tons of threads in which people diss RW... especially their hateful "Smart Coach" application... and all that stuff stays.
Well good for them...seriously.

Heck, it took RWOL nearly a day to delete the horse porn someone posted in there once. I'm pretty sure this(that?) thread will be fine.

Maniac
I know we like to bash Competitor and RnR events on here, and it certainly sounds like this running of Vegas was horrid.
However, I did want to say that I've participated in the PF Chang's RnR event here in Arizona for 5 consecutive years (3 halves and 2 fulls) and have found them to be extremely efficient and well-organized. Expensive, yes. Not great for "racing", but well-run "events". My first half was pretty slow (2:20+-ish), and there was plenty of stuff left at all of the stations.
I've never seen them pull water from hydrants in Phoenix, but our water is putrid...In fact, the fire hydrant water may not be potable, so that may not be an option.
I have no other experiences with other RnR events, so I can't speak about them. Maybe they all suck. But I like the Arizona event (running the marathon here again in January).

Wait. So he ran a little bit, then awarded himself a winning medal? And... wait... I forget, why is this not cheating?
It's a 5k. It hurt like hell...then I tried to pick it up. The end.
Since Competitor operates a quasi-running news website -- and this is running news -- they should be on this beat with full investigative reporting vigor and get to the bottom of it? Think they missed it? Should we send them a tip? I'd hate for the CEO to miss out on his Pulitizer award too.
It's only cheating if it is a race. Since this is just an event people shouldn't get so bent out of shape and should just quit whining. That's what it says on the facebook page.

That's it. I've heard enough from you. You are now BANNED FOR LIFE!!!!!
I'm running somewhere tomorrow. It's going to be beautiful. I can't wait.
Poor baby
WOOHOO!
Congratulations, Ennay. I'm sure you must be very happy at this achievement.
That would be an interesting thing to collect... getting kicked out of a race in 50 states.
Hmmm. (perhaps this explains Lauri. doubtful though)

I fly.
I ran the race last year and there was a girl in front of me that had diahrrea that oozed through her spandex shorts and collected into a huge shit pile back there. I think she was wearing pantyhose too. Just wanted to share that there was diahrrea last year too. cha cha cha
OMG! I have the same story! When I ran a 1/2 in NYC about 2000 years ago these was a woman in front of me wearing pantyhose that didn't hold it in either! I ran as fast as I could to pass her! How bizarre!!!!
Bring it on.
