Haile Gebreselassie set a new world record for the 1 hour on a track. He also broke the world record for 20,000m en-route. In 1 hour, he ran 21,285 meters. Here's how that breaks down: Imagine running a workout of 53x400 with ZERO recoveries in an average split of 67.7! Or four 5k's in an average speed of 14:05.7, and then add on 3/4 mile more for good measure. This guy is incredible. He started setting records back in the mid-90's, and he's still going strong today...13 years after the first WR he set. His world records today were the 16th and 17th he's set over his career!

Incredible stuff. It takes me an hour to decide whether to wear a hat or a bandanna. Running 21K against the clock is amazing and insane.
