Notes
Ran with the cheater shoes. New balance Fuelcell elites. They felt really weird. I get why they are cheater shoes though. Definitely felt the springyness with every step.
That being said, this time is artificially fast. I definitely went out too fast knowing the shoes were supposed to make me fast. And going uphill for the last mile I will say that the shoes almost seemed to work against me. Like they push you upright so on a hill that is almost pushing you back. I still have no doubts the shoes helped, but that does add wrinkles to it. I would love to do a more controlled study, but I think for that I would have to be in much better shape so that I could gauge a certain effort level reliably.
Don't think I'll ever wear these again. But who knows. definitely wouldn't wear them for a race.
