So running on the treadmill and it died. So spent the rest of the night trying to figure out what is wrong with it. Ended up scheduling a technician, which is a pain in the ass. It's like 4 months out of warranty, but still covered for parts replacement. So we'll have to pay for the technician but not any parts. So I hope they replace pretty much everything.

For my records, I was running just fine and then tried turning on the built in fan. The fans were acting kind of weird, one was spinning and the other one wasn't. So was messing around trying to turn it up while still running. Suddenly the whole thing stopped, the screen went black, and the treadmill stopped running. Checked the electricity coming in (120 V) and that it was grounded (it was). Also checked the connection from the power to the control board. There was a weird smell around the fans and it stutters when turned on. So I think there is a short or burnt wire somewhere. Part of me wants to just take it apart myself, but I did already schedule the technician. My guess would be friction leading to a short, although I would think built in fuses should protect it something like that.

Honestly, I chose this treadmill because my parents have it and it seemed good. But if looking for another treadmill I would never recommend one that has to connect to wifi or has a computer attached. It takes like a minute to load, which seems fast on paper but when you're standing there is kind of annoying. I also don't really use the computer for anything, as our free ifit membership is over and I didn't like it enough to pay for it. I will say when it is running it is good and quiet, for a treadmill, which is the most important thing I was looking for. But other than that I am not impressed.
