Notes
PB by 3:32. Due to a late visit to the porto-john, I started back behind the four hour pacer. Got the 3:35 pacer around mile 4, got to the 3:30 pacer around the half, and stuck with him until around 30k. I was around 1:43:40 at the half, so close to being on pace. Found it tough to hold that pace after 30k, and gradually fell back. No walking … just a gradual decline in pace. OK with the result, onto the Fredericton marathon next spring. 18 week plan starts January 6th.
Perfect weather, just a slight breeze in the second half. I actually took six gels during the race, more than I normally do. Feeling good one day later, except for a couple of toes that are a little sore. It is a fast course, although I think Fredericton is flatter.
Other than my first kilometer (5:11), all my k's up to the 32k mark were under 5 minutes, except for a couple of 5:01's. After 32k, one was 5:43, but the others were in the range of 5:03 to 5:28.
First 10k - 49:20
Second 10k - 48:32
Third 10k - 49:19
Fourth 10k - 51:25
Last 1.5 miles - 13:11
