I tagged along with Carl and Andrew for their pre-DMR workout. It was pretty short so I figured I'd go at my own pace and see how a little speed felt. The workout was 400, 600, 400, 400. For them the 600 was supposed to be really fast, 1:32. Then the two 400s after were supposed to be cutdowns, 66 and 62. The first 400 was more of a warmup rep.

First 400 felt good for me and I finished right with them. Of course I was never gonna keep up on that 600 so I just went pretty much as fast as I could. It was pretty hard especially with the wind in the back straightaway and curve but still consistent pace. Last 400s were tough but manageable.

Glad I did this workout. Haven't done any speed in a long time and it was good to get a feel for where I'm at. That 4:25 seed for the 1500 next weekend is looking ever more optimistic. Think I will be focusing more on speed once I get some more mileage with some fartleks and faster intervals.
