Went out reasonably hard but not too much so I think. After the first turn basically tried to get with teammates and settle. Was with Garrett and Matt through the first mile or so. Matt started to get away and Garrett and I kept pushing each other. Once we got to close to the turnaround point, I was able to work my way back up to Matt. It was hard to push up that third mile but I did best I could. Caught back up to Matt and went past him a little before the 3 mile. Tried to find my next gear after pushing on that long back straight. Having the more packed ground in the "woods" section was helpful and I was able to go somewhat faster. The last mile was very tough but I did the best I could. Just tried to go after those NYU guys. Really tough especially once I got to the field. Not as fast as I was hoping for (damn mud) but I went for it and gave it my all. Whether or not we make it to nationals I am happy with how this race went and how this season went. It's hard to believe this is my last cross country season, it hasn't really sunk in yet. I think I'm just not going to think about it and just keep enjoying college running as we progress from offseason to indoor to outdoor. I'll let it sink in in like a year or so.
