Gate City Half Marathon. Argh, I will have a good half eventually! Today was not that day. Started out pretty good. Brandyn took it out hard and after him it was me and Derek. I felt comfortable through the first mile and picked it up. Derek came with me and we both caught up to Brandyn. We all ran together for a little while after that, but 2.5 miles in I started developing stomach issues. It didn't take long for it to get significantly worse and after that I was pretty much just hanging on for the rest of the race. It is pretty frustrating to have something stupid like this stand between me and a good race, even if it was pretty good if you take it into consideration. Maybe it was just the race being so early. Will need to get there an hour or more earlier next year.
