Notes
Race went really well. 1st half mile was uphill, then 4th mile had some uphills and bad winds at the end with a significant hill at the end of the mile. Then the last mile was basically all downhill. I went out at 5:11, about 6 or 7 seconds behind Jake. Then I played catch up for the next mile, catching up a little after 2 miles and passing him at about 2.5. I guess he cramped up after that and couldn't keep up. I didn't look back though so I didn't know that during the race, I just assumed he was still close by and kept pushing to keep the lead. Jake and I were 1-2 the entire time so now I was in first place. I held on through a 5 flat downhill last mile for the win. It was pretty cool to win a race. Got a $100 gift card so got some free shoes too. Then after I got home I cleaned my carburetors and now my motorcycle runs a lot better. So overall a very successful day.
