Notes

Mark reached out seeing if I wanted to ski this evening. Ski report sounded great and they were open til 9pm today. Originally, today was supposed to be lift and M pace day, but it was a good skiing opportunity. Then this morning, things continued to go not well and I didn't have time to lift. And I didn't have the mental energy to do a workout today either. So a low-intensity ski day sounded good.

The snow indeed was great. This wet snow made for a great base pack. Tracks were already made. However I realized I still have a long way to go to be proficient. I had some glide but not very much. I struggled to get my weight entirely on one ski, and also to get my weight forward enough. I really really need a lesson. Nothing was really clicking. It did help having Mark there to watch and give tips, and I became more cognizant of specific things I need to work on. Hopefully some time will free up in late February or early March and I can go take a lesson somewhere. And something will "click", and I can continue practicing and improving on my own after the fact. Skiing is one of those things that you need to be proficient at before it becomes enjoyable, and I'd like to get there at some point soon if time permits.
