Notes

Old Home day race with not a lot of competition and with a race tomorrow, so Jake and I decided to take it easy for this one. We went for the first two miles at whatever the next best runners were doing, and then going for it the last mile. So the first miles felt super easy of course. One guy with a GPS watch that was with us said we did 5:50 pace for the first two miles. I'm gonna guess either that was slow or the course was short (or both), because assuming that my math puts my last mile at 4:41. Certainly possible I guess, I picked it up a lot and just hauled towards the end. I knew I had to hold off Jake so I just went hard the entire time. Felt pretty good that last mile with some good speed while not being that tired a few minutes after the finish so I basically accomplished what I came there to do. Oh and winning was nice too. 2 for 2 in 2017 Pelham races. Next stop is Rhode Island tomorrow for the Downtown 5k, will most likely see Faz and hopefully Rob and Shannon along with all the Gate City folks.
