I feel pretty darn good right now. First 5k on a track that I've ever done and I PR'd I guess...
Ankle is pretty tired right now though...
Aerobically this was awesome! I felt controlled the whole race and it didn't really ever feel like I couldn't go faster. The goal was 16:20 and I came away with 16:12 so I'm feeling great about that. Other guys around me were flying so that really helped.
Things to work on:
turnover - gotta increase the cadence, legs felt a little heavy at time and the cadence felt slow... maybe I'm just so used to racing fast stuff though
obviously that right ankle - roll and stretch more and focus on not letting the right foot point out when running
drafting mid race - I found myself in no mans land for the majority of the middle of that race. I saw the one kid "Tommy" get around me and mentally I need to be able to latch on and draft off those guys.
