Ran the first kilometer faster than before (3:51.4 - My PB before this was 3:57.33), but the goal was to break my 5 K record, which I didn't. The best 5 K till now is still what I achieved in Scotia Bank's Half: 22:02.19. The difference between 22 minutes and 20 doesn't seem that much on paper; it seems easy to run a little bit faster and do a 5 K in 20 minutes. However, when I am running under 4:00 pace, the best I can do is in the first 400 meters (the fastest pace recorded by the watch was 3:30). after that the speed drops gradually. I managed to keep the page under 5:00 the whole time, but it wasn't easy. It is hard to believe that one day this may become easy and normal. Oh, one more thing, the Max HR tells the whole story; that is how hard these fast runs are.
