Notes

My watch was showing 6:27 pace, but I turned off much later and 17:44. Regardless, very good run for me confident booster. Thought I would go with Mike, but first 50 yards are down, and I did not want to lose any momentum, going down, ran into a woman, try to keep up with her. Dino was ahead of us, so I knew that I was not overly ambitious. Stayed little behind Dino and this woman(came to know Kristina Park later on) till 2 mile. Last 0.75 mile were long and slightly on up side; started losing gas, but still not uncomfortable or killing myself. Both have gained quite a bit during this time. This was the first race, where I could see Ken most of the time. My break up as per the watch was 6:24, 6:19 and last 0.75 miles were at 6:45 pace. Which seemed right, as per my experience.

After finishing the race, Gary came to me and said he could not pass me, generally, he had been ahead of me in most races. He lived near Guadalupe River trail, would be running with him tomorrow. He further mentioned about Interval training on Wed at West Valley. Dino shared his training plan, he runs around 40 miles, most of them on treadmill at 8:10 pace, no other quality runs besides weekend races at club, which he does not miss. He is going to run some prestigious 5 K race next weekend, which a lot of other club runners are going to run. Gary thinks that today's race should put me under 20 minutes for 5 K. I am not sure. Shared that I was new runner, and just started following Jim's training plan, and getting some good progress.

The new shoes (Adidas Marathon 10) seemed very light, really liking it compare to Asics Cumulus. Asics are giving me blisters now, these were nice and snug.
