Did a long tempo this evening (having been quite tired and opted for a nap at lunchtime...), and it went pretty well. Once again, it was fairly windy, which was a nasty headwind for much of the first half of the workout but a decent tailwind on my way back. I did a total of 10.3 miles at tempo in 57:34 (averaging 5:36's), which had me pretty wiped by the end. The total pace wasn't nearly as fast as I would have hoped, but the splits were encouraging - I did the first 4.9 miles with a headwind in 27:55 (averaging 5:42's) and then the last 5.4 miles in 29:40 (averaging 5:30's). Legs were a little tired, but overall the tempo felt fairly comfortable. Need to get some more sleep the next couple of days though, to really work on recovering well.
