5x 1k at ~threshold, 60-70 sec recovery

5x 1min hills @ ~5-10k effort

First truly tougher (and longer) workout of the cycle, and it went great. Initially thought about doing the Mr Houser classic threshold workout on the track, but then opted to stay on the road and mix it up a bit with the dual-purpose workout. The threshold pieces on the road felt quite good, though it's still "new" for the legs to be moving quicker like that. The 1k pieces were consistently around 5:18-5:20, with the last one sharply faster (5:10). The slightly longer rest than I usually take on the track probably helped, but I definitely felt like I could have kept going beyond those five. For a first harder workout, this is fun to see. Then went to Mission hill for a bit of power work, and still felt strong through the end of this. All in all great signs of (still early) fitness, and lots to build on here.

Since this was (accidentally) quite longer than other runs I've done lately, no indoor cardio extension today.
