Notes

I went for my long run of the week this morning, and between mass and tutoring I was able to squeeze in a trip out to Rockefeller for the run which was a nice treat. I started from Sleepy Hollow HS and looped around the park checking out Peggy's Way (a very pretty trail that I don't think I've ever taken before), the meadow, the Stone Barns area, Swan Lake (and the visitor's center for some water) and then heading back over to the OCA and back to the high school. I was feeling much better today than I have for the past couple of days, even though it was actually slightly warmer today than it has been, which was really nice to see. I kept the pace comfortable and relaxed for the first 6 or 7 miles which felt nice, and then for the last couple I actually started to pick it up and really started getting into a groove. Having not really done any faster runs recently it felt good to get the legs really moving and see what kind of shape I'm in. Coming down the long stretch of the OCA (from the HG stretching circle) on the way back I actually followed a woman who had started an interval piece juts in front of me, and by staying with her I'm fairly certain that I ran a 3:00 measured 800m, which would mean that without working too hard and feeling remarkably smooth I was running 6:00 pace for the last part of my run which would be a great sign of where I am right now. All in all a really solid run that I very much enjoyed, especially since the run was just so pretty.
