Notes

I went for a longish run this morning, a little more than I have been doing the past several days but obviously still nothing major at all. I did this loop backwards from what I've done in the past, heading out on 43 on going over Mount Hope first before coming back to campus over Scott Hill/Stone Hill. While I didn't push the pace this afternoon, this was a pretty brutal run- my legs were just completed spent. Even after the recovery day yesterday following Friday evening's race I was stil apparently very worn out. The easy pace on the flat 43 out to Mount Hope was difficult in itself, and heading up the hill to the top was a real struggle. I measured my heart rate at the top of Scott Hill and it was at 172 after going very slowly. Despite the difficulty I had though and the complete exhaustion that my legs were in, this was an absolutely beautiful run that I'm glad I was able to do. Mount Hope is completely green now with dandelions covering the fields, and on this warm sunny day you had truly incredible views of the surrounding mountains.

Tomorrow will be a very easy/off day to really let the legs recovery following this tough weekend, but I'm planning on putting off an actual recovery period between seasons until after the Chappaqua 10K in two weeks so that I can hopefully run that pretty fast.
