This was the 3rd 30k trail race in the Rogue Series - out at Pace Bend Park. It was a two loop course that had great views and some sections that you could actually get some speed going. If it wasn't for the high humidity I might have had a chance to beat my 2:36 at the first race. I negative split every lap and got under 8:00/mile for the last 3 miles (lots of smooth meadow trails helped).
I placed 13th place overall and finally passed the lead female about a mile out and was able to hold her off. I also had the 5th fastest time over the entire series (3 races) which was good enough for a free pair of Brooks shoes. Very cool.
Just signed up last minute for a road marathon in 3 weeks up at Notre Dame so I guess I better start training.
