Notes
Perfect morning - 39 at the start, 46 at the finish. Bright, crisp, and cool. Maybe a slight north breeze in parts but that would be very picky. Colin took Higgi's unused bib and drove in from Austin that morning in order to make sure I got in under 3 hours. I started to get really stiff in the middle miles and just had to focus on form and relaxing. With Colin, I never had to look at the watch and just zeroed in on his red singlet. The 3 hour pace group was right around me the entire run, actually swallowing me up for a little bit until I was able to pull ahead around mile 20 or so. More painful than I expected - wasn't working as hard as I thought but the legs just wouldn't turn over. Very happy with the result - didn't realize we were so close to 3 until the last .25 mile. Had decent sleep all week, stretched and rolled religiously. Need to work on allowing those legs to stay loose longer - the aerobic was there.
Gu every 5 miles or so.
