Notes
Still a little cool - but super humid and a little misty. Vince convinced me to join him for this 10k in Dripping Springs and we settled on an 8 minute bet for a 12-pack of beer. Out-n-back w/ mostly easy rolling hills except the first mile has a good hill which meant coming back the last mile was pretty much uphill.
Went out somewhat controlled and let everyone who went out too fast drop back and found myself 4th at the turn-around. Easily passed the 3rd place guy but took another mile or so to catch up to 2nd. Passed him and tried to keep the pedal down uphill during the last mile. 1st place crossed a few minutes ahead of me so I had no chance. 39:29 final result. Pretty happy with the pace and the strategy.
Stayed at the finish line and watched for Vince - he was coming in hot in the mid 47:xx so I knew it was close. He ended up with a 47:32 so I won the bet by 3 seconds.
