30th annual Chuy's 5k this morning just down the road from my house. Last year's running is my PR (18:07). This year I am coming off a lot of marathon training and a late night with Jimmy Buffet so I wasn't really sure what would happen. Weather was perfect. Struggled the first mile with traffic and fatigue (6:02) but got in a groove the 2nd (5:51) and finished pretty strong in 18:25 (5:47 final mile). Didn't quite get overall Master's title like last year but did pick up a 1st place Age Group award (the coveted fish). All in all a fine morning. All the rest of my family finished the full 5k as well which is a first.
