Glute stuff was still an issue after Thursday so took 2 days off and the plan was to warmup, try to take it easy, and if feeling okay maybe race. Started with Joe and his 1:35 pace group but felt okay from the start so just kept the legs moving. Passed the 1:30 group around mile 3 and kept pretty consistent around 6:30-6:40. Never got down to the low 6s like I'd hoped but overall a good race. Perfect conditions (low 30s, still, and clear). Glutes tightened as expected around 7 miles in but was able to keep the pace in check - felt clunky, not smooth. Apparently Fletcher was just ahead of me for his PR.
Same bottom line: not injured just weak and stiff. Aerobically I still feel good just don't feel like I have the power to get down to paces I think I could handle.
