Woo first Turkey Trot ever! Roads were nice and clear despite the snow yesterday and made everything look beautiful. Ran into Katherine and Loki on the line before the race went off. Going in my goal was to get top 3. The race went out fast, but after everyone settled out a little past the mile mark it was easy to see I was second. So I just held my pace. Got passed by the 3rd girl right near the end, so ended up 3rd, but I would say it was a successful run. Entered myself in at 18:30, so I exceeded expectations with 18:29. For only running easy runs, 6 hills and taking 2 days off I am happy. Although if I am going to run anymore road races I should look into investing in some flats because my XC spikes with blanks in were a little slippery on the pavement.
