Out and back. Hot but not humid. Set out to run 10 today but I was a little unsure of the distance because I use this lousy iphone app called Runmeter to track my pace time and distance. Lately it hasn't been working well, particularly for the first mile. It records my first mile early, somewhere around the 6 minute mark, so my run is no longer tracked properly at that point. So, I just keep the time and come home to use mapmyrun to get the distance. Can't wait to get a Garmin! I know that this was a big jump in distance since my previous long was 8.1 but it felt good until the final three which were tough. Think I'll stay around the 10-11 mark for a few weeks.

We call to the lake very close to 11 from the Y. Nice run. good advice not to jump up too fast on distance to avoid injury.

Thanks guys for all the advice and encouragement! I figured this would be a known course for you veterans. I'm glad it's at least the 10.8 I recorded. Short runs the next two days then an off day. Hope you can get some runs in Dad while in the nation's capital over the next week.
