Lunchtime, new shoes, they feel good.
How's the hip? Seems like some paces waffle btwn 8s & mid 9s. I know that Lance has been hammering the pt of keeping easy runs no faster than a 9 mm, & that has kept me healthy (knock wood). I wonder if it would do the same for you? As long as you have an interval/tempo/stride day during the week it may keep you in check with your pace. Looks like your doing great & 5ks are getting much faster under 22.

Thanks Steve. I'm still finding my way here. I agree that an easy day should be an easy day. However, due to the continued hip pain I have temporarily abandoned all speed work to see if that helps. I'm also icing very faithfully now and I think I'm seeing some improvement. My goal is to keep the mieage up but the intensity down. So the fluctuation may make a little more sense considering that. No more races for a while either. You are kicking ass daily.
