"Bellair Grand Prix"

This is a hill workout. "jog" to the workout area (Bellair) then do 30sec surges (10K/HMP), 30sec jog until you get to the first of 3 hills. Then surge up hill, jog down, repeat. The whole course is about 1.37 miles long.

The guys went out way too fast in the "warmup". Sure, it was downhill. But not -40sec downhill. My stomach wasn't feeling too keen at the start. After the warmup to the course I didn't feel all that solid. I knew it was going to be an effort.

Brian, Case and I held the back-pack while Rick, Jeremy and Matt took off ahead. In the first loop we three finished abreast. The second loop Case joined Rick, M&J took off, and Brian and I hung back. Brian quit before the first hill with some tightness concerns. I pulled together an okay effort to finish the second loop. But I was beat for the jog home. The group took off at a 8:15 pace, with a few more hills to lumber up. I had to drop out after the first mile or so. I just couldn't hang.

Fortunately, the guys circled back to get me -- by that time I'd regenerated and kept up w/o issue.

It's a good workout. I just wish I felt better going into it.
