I have been trying for a while to beat 25:14 for over a year in the GOOD TIMES 5k races in Lowell.. last year thanks to Mary Casey I ran a 24:58 in a 5k race in Lowell that was my Fastest 5k race since 2001.. well that is until tonight.. two years ago I ran the Fast Hollis 5k race in 27:23 .. I am happy to say i ran that same race tonight in 24:14.. I have been trying and trying to run what's known as "Negative Splits" for you non runners that means basically each mile is faster than the previous mile.. well tonight I did that. .my splits tonight were 8:26 7:42 and 7:37 a little rain.. but that's okay. yes it was Downhill but I'm still HAPPY with my time. i do believe my two mile warm up before the race helped! I hope to run this race next year and beat tonight's time..
